The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program prepares students to become competent, safe, and ethical physical therapist assistants.

Why Study to be a Physical Therapist Assistant at CSN?

PTAs work under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist in a variety of healthcare settings to help patients improve mobility and relieve the pain caused by injury or pathology.

Once students complete the associate of applied science degree, pass the licensure exam and meet all other requirements of licensure, they will have the opportunity to work as a PTA in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, nursing homes/extended care facilities, outpatient clinics and home health.

Limited Entry Program

NOTE: The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is a limited entry program. Students must attend a health programs orientation and meet with a health programs advisor for additional counseling prior to application.

Degrees and Certificates

Physical Therapist Assistant: AAS

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive the AAS degree in Physical Therapist Assistant. This entitles the graduate to take the national licensure examination. Successful passing of this examination and completion of the state licensure requirements will allow the graduate to function as a licensed physical therapist assistant (PTA).
