This rigorous program offers didactic, clinical, and field experiences to prepare graduates to take their place as dental hygiene professionals. Dental hygienists are licensed members of the health care team who integrates the roles of educator, consumer advocate, practitioner, manager, change agent, and researcher to support total health through the promotion of oral health and wellness.

Why Study Dental  Hygiene at CSN?

Two Bachelor of Science (BS) Degrees in Dental Hygiene are available. Our BS degrees are accredited by the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities.

Earning a BS in Dental Hygiene allows dental hygiene professionals to expand their knowledge, roles and responsibilities within the field of education, or dental public health administration.

A Bachelor of Science (BS) Dental Hygiene degree is the entry-level licensure degree at CSN.

Limited Entry Program

NOTE: Dental Hygiene is a limited entry program. Students must attend a health programs orientation and meet with a health programs advisor for additional counseling prior to application.

Dental Hygiene, BS

The Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene degree is the entry-level program that prepares graduates to become licensed prevention specialists in the dental health team providing health education, administering local anesthesia, removing deposits and stains from teeth, exposing x-rays, and applying topical fluoride.

Dental Hygiene: Education Specialist, BS

Graduates of the Baccalaureate program will be qualified for an array of challenging career opportunities in public health, education, administration, research, management, and related fields. The online cohort program is offered part-time to provide flexibility for working professionals.

Dental Hygiene: Public Health Specialist, BS

This program allows associate degree students and licensed dental hygienists the opportunity to build upon their current knowledge, enhance their current professional role, and advance to broader careers to meet the growing public health and education needs in dentistry.
