The 2024–25 FAFSA® form is now available.

The 2024-25 FAFSA has been simplified to make it easier and more accessible for students and families. Some of the main changes include:

  • The new FAFSA has less than 50 questions, compared to over 100 in the old version.
  • Your FAFSA data will be used to calculate a Student Aid Index (SAI).
  • The Student Aid Index (SAI) is an eligibility index number that CSN’s Office of Financial Aid will use to determine how much federal student aid the student would receive. The SAI replaces the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that used to be calculated from FAFSA data.
  • You, and your spouse/parents/stepparents must consent to an IRS income data transfer.
  • The signing process for the new 2024/25 FAFSA will differ from previous years. Anyone required to complete the FAFSA will have to have their own FSA ID and will be required to sign digitally.

These changes are expected to make the FAFSA process simpler, faster, and more equitable for millions of students who need financial help to pay for college. For more information, visit the Federal Student Aid website: studentaid.gov.
